The Concept of Work-from-Anywhere Comes to Life in 2023

The Demand for Remote Work is Skyrocketing
Your space could be your office

Gone are the days when work-from-home or remote jobs were just a dream. With the new reality in 2023, you can take your career anywhere you desire and live a life of travel and adventure. In this article, we will take a look at the top 30 companies offering fully remote jobs, according to FlexJobs, a leader in helping job seekers.

The Demand for Remote Work is Skyrocketing

Remote jobs are in high demand and becoming more popular every day. In 2022, FlexJobs witnessed a 20% increase in remote job postings, compared to a 12% growth in the previous year. Companies are recognizing the benefits of remote workers, including improved retention rates, a more diverse talent pool, increased productivity, and cost-efficiency, says Kathy Gardner, a spokesperson for FlexJobs.

Surveys show that 65% of people want to work remotely full-time, and 63% would look for a new job if they couldn't continue to work remotely, according to Gardner. Remote jobs are the ultimate form of location flexibility and independence for many professionals, she adds.

The Snag of Geographic Requirements

However, many workers are shocked to learn that the majority of remote jobs have geographic requirements, such as a specific state, city, country, or region. True work-from-anywhere roles, which allow employees to work from anywhere in the world, are even more in demand because they're harder to find.

FlexJobs' Top 30 Companies for Remote Jobs

To help job seekers, FlexJobs has released a list of the top 30 companies offering the most remote, work-from-anywhere job listings. To make the list, the companies must offer a fully remote job with zero location restrictions, either full-time or part-time, with a flexible or alternative schedule.

This year's list includes 21 new companies, such as Airbnb, Toast, and ConsenSys, and showed growth in two categories, accounting and finance (55%) and marketing (32%). HR & recruiting (9%) and writing (10%) grew more modestly.

For the second year in a row, the top company on the list is the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization in San Francisco that operates some of the world's largest reference projects. "Being a non-profit organization, it's an excellent representation of the variety of companies and industries offering remote work-from-anywhere career opportunities," says Gardner.
